And the first dinner (or lunch) on 1st. January in Germany should be pork loin steak with sautéed sour cabbage.
It's said that if you eat it in the beginning of the year, money doesn't go out.

元旦の夕飯(お昼の食べる人も。)は豚ロースとザワークラウト。
一年のはじめにこれを食べると、お金が出て行かない、とか。
